The City of Malaga has installed three Orange Points or water rescue devices that allow controlling 3 zones of the Malagueta Beach within a radius of 300 m. Through these devices, lifeguards are able to rescue bathers by pressing a remote control that connects to the alarm reception center and that releases a harness attached to the rescue point by means of an electric motor. In this way, it is possible to return to the shore with little effort and initiate health care to the best of their abilities.
In addition, the system has a microphone and a speaker that guarantee ground-water communication at all times and with a GSM / GPRS module, which allows you to send precise data on solar radiation, force and change to telephone terminals, the tide, the winds, the temperature or the quality of the water.
Given that this system reduces the rescue time considerably, it is possible to reduce the number of deaths due to drowning. In addition, it is available 365 days a year, and can be used by anyone since it has detailed instructions for use displayed outside.
