The Mobility Area has a centralized system with a wide network of measurement points that, provide information on the number of vehicles that circulate and the traffic density at each moment. With this data, the traffic plans are madeand traffic signal timings are calculated.
A Traffic Plan consists of parameters that define the behavior of a set of traffic signals, both the times of each intersection and the synchronism between intersections, in order to favor the circulation of major flows. As many plans are created as are necessary to respond to the different movements within the road network. Traffic behavior varies depending on the time of day, the type of day and the season of the year, so for each of the situations there is a specific Traffic Plan. The Traffic Plans are subject to periodic evaluations and adjustments in order to keep them updated and to offer the best possible response.
